Petition started requesting designated parking for 65+ in Innisfil and Ontario

Many of our parent(s) and grandparent(s) are still independent, and want to remain independent, but it becomes increasingly difficult for them every year.

A By-Law for designated parking spots, throughout the community and province, for those age 65+ is an easy way to help your family members and friends stay active and safe. Parking spaces, like the current disabled spots, that are close to retail and services, provide safer and easier access for a population whose mobility and flexibility becomes a bigger issue each year.

Statistics Canada:

A study of disabilities in our population indicates that over 80% of those from the age of 45+ indicated they had some form of disability.
Mobility, Pain and Flexibility were the top three reported disabilities taking 24.5%.
This is currently a population that represents 15% of our total and expected to be 24% by 2050. That represents nearly 1/4 of the voting population.
There is no cost to taxpayers if the by-law is enforced with tickets/fines and towing for offenders.
Worried about a friend or loved one?

Sign this petition to help your parent(s) and/or grandparent(s). Send it to your friends so they can do the same for their parent(s) and/or grandparent(s).

Make life just a little easier for people who happily do not qualify for a disabled parking permit - but need a little help getting groceries or accessing public and government buildings/services, particularly in inclement weather.
