Swimmers race for glory

Participants in an open-water swim up to five kilometres begin their race on the shore of Lake Simcoe at Innisfil Beach Park on Saturday.

Custodio strikes out 11

Claudio Custodio struck out 11 batters over six innings to lead the Barrie Baycats to an abbreviated 9-0 win over the Hamilton Cardinals on Thursday night in Intercounty Baseball League action at Coates Stadium in Midhurst.

The Barrie Baycats rebounded from their first loss of the Intercounty Baseball League season earlier this week with a huge victory in Hamilton on Wednesday night.
