Topic: FEEDBACK

Since The Examiner is not posting feedback in the Feedback section of it's web site, I decided to start a thread here:

Re: MPP hardly visible

Linda Cormier and the Conservatives would like you to believe the CAPP protests were about nothing more than a 'procedural tactic', but prorogation is just a means to an end for Stephen Harper. In 2008 he used the tactic to hold on to power by shutting down Parliament to deny the Opposition an opportunity to vote non-confidence in his government. In 2009 Harper used the tactic to shut down Parliament again in order to thwart a committee investigating his government's handling of Afghan detainee transfers. Linda Cormier is either misinformed or is trying to deliberately misinform the Examiner's readers. While Jean Chretien did prorogue on 3 occassions during Aileen Caroll's time in office, Paul Martin never did, and neither prorogued to avoid a vote of confidence in the House. Queen's Park was in session today (February 22) and was last week as well despite Linda Cormier's claim that it had been prorogued by Dalton McGuinty. It seems as though Linda Cormier is the person who ought to be saying 'oops'.

Re: Tories won't change course: MP

So much for 'recalibrating' their agenda. All that time off and all Patrick Brown can come up with is "This is no time to change course". I thought the whole purpose for suspending Parliament was to do just that, change course as the economy moved from recession to recovery.
