GTA man faces several charges

SPRINGWATER TWP. - A Scarborough man faces stunt driving and drug charges after police stopped him going east on Highway 26 Sunday afternoon.

Huronia West OPP clocked a vehicle at 138 kilometres an hour in a posted 80 km/h zone at 2 p.m.

It was stopped, and police determined the driver had been drinking. Marijuana, cocaine and an open bottle of alcohol was found, police said.

A 38-year-old man was charged with marijuana and cocaine possession, failing and/or refusing a breath test, stunt drive – speeding (more than 50 km/h above the speed limit) and having open liquor in the vehicle.

He has future courts dates in Collingwood and Wasaga Beach.
